Trim Levels (Exterior)
The 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee is available in the following configurations: Laredo, Laredo E, Altitude, Limited, Sterling Edition, Trailhawk, Overland, High Altitude, Summit, SRT, and Trackhawk. With no extra packages or additions, the Laredo has an MSRP of $30,595. The base Trackhawk has an MSRP of $85,900.
All of these vehicles except for the Trailhawk, SRT, and Trackhawk are available in 4X2 or 4X4 configurations. Two-wheel drive (4X2) gets less traction than four-wheel drive (4X4) but is cheaper and more fuel efficient. The Trailhawk, SRT, and Trackhawk are only available as 4X4s. The trims also vary in terms of engine and performance as well as available interior packages and which safety features come standard.
All models of the 2018 Grand Cherokee except the SRT and Trackhawk come standard with a 3.6-liter Pentastar V-6 engine and an eight-speed automatic transmission. On the Laredo, Laredo E, Altitude, Limited, and Sterling Edition, this powertrain delivers 26 miles per gallon on the highway and a towing capacity of 6,200 pounds. There's also an available 5.7-liter HEMI V-8 engine and an eight-speed transmission on select models for drivers who want to build a more powerful Jeep.
The SRT comes standard with a 6.4-liter HEMI SRT V-8 engine. This delivers 475 horsepower, 470 pound-feet of torque, and a max towing capacity of 7,200 pounds. The Trackhawk has a 6.2-liter V-8 engine that gets 707 horsepower, 645 pound-feet of torque, and a towing capacity of 7,200 pounds.
The 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee is a thrilling vehicle to drive, especially with the upgraded engines on the higher trims. The SRT can go from 0-60 in 5.3 seconds, and the Trailhawk can get there in 3.5. Brembo high-performance brakes and launch control, which are available exclusively on the SRT and Trailhawk, give drivers even greater control behind the wheel. Features like available four-wheel drive, the Quadra-Drive I and II systems, and electronic limited-slip rear differential are available on lower trims to create a stellar driving experience.
Inside the Jeep, drivers can pick from a selection of available suede/Nappa performance seats and Laguna leather performance seats. A 7-inch Uconnect touch-screen comes standard on all Jeep Grand Cherokees, but this can be upgraded to include an 8.4-inch touch-screen. Luxuries such as a dual-pane panoramic sunroof are also available.
All 2018 Grand Cherokees boast over 70 standard and available safety features. This includes modern technologies like electronic stability control, blind spot monitoring, rear cross-path detection, and lane depart warning with lane keep assist. Rain-sensing windshield wipers, rain brake support, and a modern air bag system also help drivers stay safe on the road.
